As Texas residents we all know how common severe storms are in this part of the country. Hail storms and tornados can show up with no warning generating significant damages to homes and businesses in their path. Bringing your property back to its original condition can be a stressful and time consuming process, which is why at Urban Roofing we take pride in assisting our homeowners through the entire recovery process. Our Storm Restoration Service is design to guide our home and business owners through their claim process in order to get the best possible compensation from their insurance claim. From filing to reconstruction, we are committed to make your insurance claim a stress free experience.
One of the most common questions our homeowners ask about their claims is whether their insurance premium will increase following a storm damage claim. The answer is NO! Your homeowner’s insurance premium will not increase. Hail, wind, and storm damages are natural weather related events and are considered to be an “Act of God” which means insurance companies cannot legally cancel your policy or raise your rates.
Follow these steps to ensure a successful insurance claim:
- Contact Urban Roofing for a free roof inspection. It is important for one of our insurance claim specialists to determine if your roof sustained considerable damage through the storm in order to have your homeowner’s insurance company liable. If your property does not have significant damage, you will have received a complete roof inspection without any obligations!
- If it is determined that your property has sustained substantial storm damage, you can then call your home owners insurance claim department and file a storm damage claim. Inform them that your property has sustained storm damage and it has been confirmed by a professional roofing contractor. It is important to have the right date of the loss at the time of your call. Our claims specialist will provide you with the accurate information and assist you with the entire procedure. The Insurance representative will provide you with a CLAIM NUMBER, information about the insurance adjuster and an adjuster meeting date. The information in regards your adjuster and meeting date could vary depending on your provider.
- Typically an insurance adjuster will contact you within two or three days after filing your claim. You will provide your Urban Roofing representative with the insurance adjuster meeting date and time and our team member will schedule himself to be there as well. Having representation at the time of the meeting is critical, especially if your roof damages are border line. As homeowner’s advocates we will discuss in detail every single damage site that needs to be considered for the claim; as well as the right measurements, pricing and upgrades required to bring your property back to its original condition. This careful and detailed procedure has made the difference many times between getting a full roof replacement compensation, partial repairs that will normally not exceed your deductible or even no compensation at all.
